Questions and licensing
Are the kits free to use in my music, also commercially?
Yes. Every kit is a free download with no account, and every sample is released under CC0 1.0 (public domain, no conditions) or CC BY 4.0 (free to use and adapt, also commercially, if you credit the authors). Both allow the sounds in your own tracks and commercial releases, royalty-free. How do I credit the samples?
For kits with CC BY samples, add a short credit wherever you publish the music — the track description, liner notes or credits — for example:Drum samples: DRSKit by DrumGizmo & Jes Eiler (DRSDrums), MuldjordKit by Lars Muldjord (DrumGizmo) (CC BY 4.0), via fingerdrum.ioThe README.txt in each zip lists exactly which libraries that kit uses. Can I share or modify the kits?
Yes. The licenses allow copying, sharing and changing the samples. When you pass the files on, keep the README.txt with the credits and license links, so the attribution travels with them.
What format are they, and which samplers do they work with?
WAV, 48 kHz, 16-bit, stereo for the recorded kits, one folder per sound with the velocity layer (soft, hard) and take number in each file name. They load in any sampler that reads WAV: Akai MPC, Native Instruments Maschine, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic, Serato Sample and others.
